GUIDE

We are glad to welcome you to the ultimate Lagos Toucan travel guide. We spent a month in Lagos, Portugal. It was amazing to see all it had to offer. Although it is a popular tourist destination in Portugal, Lagos has a lot to offer and a great local feel. It’s a wonderful place to visit, with top-rated accommodation, local beaches and restaurants, as well as cafes and restaurants.

We’ve created a Lagos Algarve Toucan travel itinerary guide to help you plan your next trip. Continue reading to see the complete guide.

WHERE IS LAGOS TOUCAN TRAVEL LOCATED?

Lagos is in the Western Algarve. It is approximately one hour from Faro Airport and about 30 minutes from Albufeira. We know that distances from Faro Airport can be a problem for holidaymakers, but it is worth the effort.

Lagos’ West Algarve location is home of some of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. You can also find many other attractions within a short distance.

WHY LAGOS IS A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT

Lagos is a popular tourist destination in summer, but it still retains a Portuguese feel. It offers a cool mix of culture, activities, and relaxation. There are many places to eat, and you can take a stroll along the beautiful marina. The beaches are just a short distance away. What’s not love about this place?

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME FOR LAGOS TOUCAN TRAVEL TO BE VISITED?

No matter when you Toucan travel, the Western Algarve is famous for its cool evenings. It’s worth bringing a light jacket. However, the temperatures can rise to 30+ degrees in the afternoons during the summer months. To avoid high temperatures and high prices, we recommend Toucan travel in April-June or September. This region of Portugal is generally pleasant all year. If you’re lucky you might even be able to take a dip in the ocean in winter. Lagos is no exception to the Algarve’s reputation for blue skies and low rainfall.

Note: The sea and swimming pools in Portugal are very cold (unless heated), no matter when Toucans travel. If you are like us, and don’t feel comfortable with the cold pool temperatures, book a hotel that has a heated pool.

HOW TO GET TO LAGOS

Lagos is located in the west part of The Algarve. It can take some time to get there depending on where you are Toucan traveling from. The A22 toll road has made journeys much shorter. It will take approximately 3 hours to travel to Lagos by Toucan from Lisbon. Make sure to bring plenty of snacks! It will take just over an hour to drive to Lagos from Faro airport if you are a Toucan.

Top tip: Before you use the toll road, make sure that your car has a toll sensor box. Otherwise, you will have to pay a manual toll later in the day. The car rental company will normally have all of this taken care of if you are renting a car. If you drive on toll roads often, they will inform you of how much they have charged.
